Simple and Modern

This cake was created for a wedding at Blue Hill at Stone Barns. It was meant to be simple in order to compliment the simple and elegant decor of the dining room.

Touch of Purple with Lace

We recently made this cake for a wedding at the River Cafe (which I absolutely love). It features piped lace along with a bow and a brooch, each crafted out of sugar.

Peanut Butter and Jelly anyone?

We decorated this cake to look like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. This is entirely sugar work (so it's not cake showing with actual peanut butter and jelly). It was presented as a surprise to the guest of honor at her bridal shower, so we also decorated the plate to replicate her wedding china.

Yankees vs Mets Groom's Cake

This cake was a lot of fun. It was a groom's cake that was meant to add a touch of silliness to a very elegant wedding at The Pratt Mansion in Manhattan. We loved the idea from the start and couldn't wait to make it.

White Orchids

There's nothing like the simplicity of a white on white wedding cake. We were going for a clean look to fit in with this wedding at the Ritz Carlton. This is a square wedding cake with white orchids coming down.

Carousel Cookies

We made these cookies to be given out as favors at the baby shower where the moving-carousel cake (from our last blog entry) was served. They were individually wrapped and tied with pink ribbons. One was set at each place setting.

Carousel Cake

We did this carousel cake for a baby shower at The Surf Club in New Rochelle, NY... it's all cake and sugar work. Mark planted a motor inside so it would rotate and put lights in as well. I never thought I'd say that we had to plug in our cake as part of the set-up!

Piped Lace with Mango Calla Lillies

We were so excited about making this wedding cake because it's the kind of design that is timeless but at the same time, it's fashionable. The concept of the lace was thought of as a way of tying the design of the cake into the bride's gown. Each calla lily is hand crafted from sugar and the lace is piped.

I'm a Blogger Too!!!! - Les Paul Guitar Cake

Mark and I have been talking about starting a cake blog for what seems like ages. We were both inspired and encouraged by our close friend, Ben who writes the HILARIOUS B-Side Blog (seriously, if you want to laugh, check it out).
This blog is our way of sharing our latest projects with you. We love what we do and we show up to work every day with enthusiasm. We hope you enjoy checking out our new blog!

This cake was made for a Bar Mitzvah at the elegant Old Westbury Golf and Country Club. The theme was Rock and Roll and we were commissioned to make a cake to replicate a drum with a Gibson Les Paul guitar. And yes, everything is edible!
